Coldbrook Provincial Picnic Park
Coldbrook Provincial Park is a small day use picnic park situated under a canopy of red and white pines. Located just off Highway 1 near the Highway 101 interchange, it’s easily accessible for families and visitors. The park features picnic tables and open areas nestled among towering trees, making it a quiet and shaded retreat on a warm day. Best of all — it’s pet friendly!
Loomer Mill
The Loomer Mill was located on the brook where the Fish Hatchery is now located. It was a grist mill for grinding grain into flour and a carding mill to prepare wool for spinning into yarn. The grinding stones from the mill are now located in the Provincial Picnic Park, where they stand as a tangible reminder of the area’s early milling history.
Canada’s Centennial Stone
The park is also home to a Centennial stone erected in 1967 by the Women’s Institute of West Kings District, marking 100 years of Canadian Confederation (1867–1967). It stands as a reminder of the community organizations that have shaped the Coldbrook area over the generations.
