Crosby Trail
The Crosby Walking Trail is maintained by the Coldbrook Community Association and is open year round. Suitable for all fitness levels, the gravel trail winds through a peaceful wooded setting with benches along the way to rest and enjoy the surroundings.
Trail rules:
- Keep to the gravel trail
- No motorized vehicles
- Dogs must be on leash (Kings County Bylaw)
- Use at own risk
Harvest Moon Trailway and Kentville Migratory Bird Sanctuary
Coldbrook residents have direct access to the Harvest Moon Trailway, one of Nova Scotia’s premier multi-use trail systems. The Trailway spans 110 kilometres across the Annapolis Valley from Annapolis Royal to Grand Pré, following the bed of the historic Dominion Atlantic Railway. The segment accessible from Coldbrook is Section 20, known as the Cornwallis River Greenway.
This flat, stone-dust trail is suitable for all ages and abilities and is open year round for walking, cycling, and cross-country skiing. The trail connects to the Kentville Migratory Bird Sanctuary, located on Park Street in Kentville, where flat double-track paths wind through rich floodplain woods with beautiful river views. Fall is a particularly special time to visit, with black ducks and teal gathering in the area during migration season.
Dogs are welcome on leash.
Coldbrook and District Provincial Park
Located just off Highway 1 near the Highway 101 interchange, Coldbrook and District Provincial Park is a lovely spot for a family outing. The park features picnic tables and open areas nestled among towering trees, making it a quiet and shaded retreat on a warm day. Look for the historic grindstones tucked among the trees — a tangible reminder of the area’s early milling history. The park is also home to a Centennial stone erected in 1967 by the Women’s Institute of West Kings District, marking 100 years of Canadian Confederation (1867–1967).
